Responsible for oversight and governance of CUSO (RBC Capital Markets LLC, City National Securities, Inc., and CNR Securities, LLC) and RBC CMA Ltd. What will you do?

  • Maintains and enforces Branch Inspection Program Standards/Policies.
  • Oversees updates to branch questionnaires and review scripts for both platforms.
  • Establishes alignment with Enterprise Standards for the codification of issues vs. exceptions.
  • Establishes a framework of oversight for entry and remediation of RegComp issues.
  • Oversees overall resource utilization for branch program, providing the Head of Broker-Dealer Shared Services resourcing when able to assist with special projects.
  • Escalates items for attention to the Head of BD Shared Services and relevant stakeholders.
  • Participates in industry roundtables and other discussions to ensure both Programs are in alignment with peers and enforce/test regulations properly.
  • Collaborates with the Securities Registrations & Licensing team on the 2025 internal build of the new registrations surveillance system to ensure branch team attributes are incorporated to assist with inspection tracking and reporting.
  • Assists in the development of Broker-Dealer Shared Services centralized reporting to demonstrate branch inspection progress, findings, relevant Securities Registrations and Insurance metrics, and trend analyses to be shared with senior stakeholders.
  • Gatekeeper for RSL assignment / Manages risk assessments to determine designation is within parameters.
  • Maintenance / Enhancements of periodic risk assessments to determine if a location (brick-and-mortars, non-registered locations, secondary residences, and RSLs) is eligible for a remote inspection.
  • Determines inspections which must be conducted on-site, and/or unannounced, based on risk assessment output.
  • Management of connectivity with Securities Registration team, Employees Disclosures Group, Compliance Advisory teams, and 1LOD stakeholders for risk assessment input and verification of location categorization, inclusive of "red flags" monitoring.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-Have

  • 7-10 years of experience in similar role
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Knowledge of FINRA (particularly Rule 3110), SEC, and MSRB expectations, rules, and regulations
  • Familiarity with Capital Markets and/or Wealth Management products, strategies, and activities at a U.S.-registered broker-dealer.
  • Experience managing multiple workstreams at any given time.
  • Experience in people management.

Nice to have:

Masters or Law School Degree

Any FINRA Registrations (Series 7, 24, etc.)

    The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $160,000-250,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate's experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs.This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
