Digital Innovation Division (DID) is accountable for generating and executing integrated strategies,

providing governance, and managing internal investments associated with four technical pillars that form the foundation of Aerospace's digital transformation.

Leading strategic transformation initiatives within the Digital Innovation Division, you will serve as a Capability Transformation Portfolio Lead reporting directly to the Principal Director. In this pivotal role, you will orchestrate capability transformation projects across the portfolio while fostering collaboration with Engineering Technology Group and Program Office stakeholders to implement and sustain cutting edge engineering capabilities.

Work Model: This position can be 100% onsite or hybrid work arrangement of 3 days of in-office work based at our Chantilly, El Segundo, Colorado Springs, Albuquerque, or Huntsville location (or willing to travel to a SCIF as-needed).

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead strategic digital transformation initiatives, collaborating with the Principal Director to govern and integrate enterprise-wide capability transformation (eg. development, modernization, modularization, and integration) efforts.
  • Spearhead architectural transformation projects, implementing modern design patterns to enhance system scalability and maintainability.
  • Provide leadership for one or more Digital Innovations Capability Transformation focus areas defined by the Capability Transformation Subdivision, which may include directly leading projects critical to the digital transformation of Aerospace.
  • Develop and oversee integrated execution plans for digital transformation projects, ensuring alignment with fiscal year objectives and corporate strategic goals.
  • Interact directly with government customers and Aerospace program office personnel in the employee's regional area to obtain first-hand insights into the digital transformation activities of those customers.
  • Dedicate 25-50% of time (10-20 hours weekly) providing direct technical guidance to government customers on digital transformation initiatives.
  • Establish technical roadmaps for legacy system modernization, incorporating emerging technologies and industry best practices.
  • Champion adoption of modern software engineering practices across development teams.
  • Identify and analyze critical customer challenges, recommending innovative solutions that leverage modern technology stacks.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and methodologies to enhance current capabilities and deliver additional features.
  • Act as the office's designated representative at technical meetings, presentations, and symposia.

What You Need to be Successful - Senior Project Leader

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM or other technical discipline
  • 12 or more years of increasingly responsible professional engineering/scientific experience, including multi-disciplinary systems engineering and/or program management environments.
  • Experience and knowledge across modeling, simulation, and analysis domains (e.g. live, virtual, constructive) including both standalone and distributed/integrated architectures.
  • Experience and knowledge with digital engineering (DE), multidisciplinary engineering and analysis tools, and workflow automation approaches.
  • Demonstrated experience leading by influence and through ambiguity to adjudicate competing priorities and overcome cultural challenges.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt quickly to change, and demonstrate initiative under pressure.
  • Position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

How You Can Stand Out

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:

  • Advance degree in STEM or other technical discipline
  • Current DoD TS and SSBI/SCI Clearance
  • Prior hands-on experience with DE tools, applications, and processes
  • Strong knowledge of systems-of-systems (SoS) engineering and architecting and model-based system engineering (MBSE), data management, software development discipline, literature, tools, and processes
  • Strong knowledge of program and portfolio management
  • Extensive knowledge of the breadth and depth of ETG's technical capabilities and customers

The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
