Position: Patient Care Technician Location: Observation Unit Schedule: 24 Hours, (12 hour shifts/ Nights / Rotating Weekends/Holidays) ABOUT THE Medical Surgical/Observation DEPARTMENT AT BOSTON MEDICAL CENTER The Observation Unit is comprised of 28 bays, which is adjacent to the PACU. This unit provides protocol driven care to a specific population of patients whose length of stay is typically 24 hours or less. The unit often turns over the entire census each day, resulting in a fast paced high-volume environment. Patient types can include (but are not limited to) abdominal pain, R/O MI, acute wound care, and acute respiratory issues. The unit is run by the Hospitalists and Family Medicine and Documentation is tailored to this specific population. POSITION SUMMARY: JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
