Job Purpose

The senior financial analyst's role is primarily to build and support the auto product gross profit forecast and simulation for American Honda Company's sales function. The responsibility extends across various departments inside and outside of Finance business units, working with different stakeholders, including the manufacturing entity and the product planning team, to ensure accurate profit simulation. The forecast and analysis roll up to AHM's overall profitability and North American profit status at each budget event and for managerial reporting.

Key Accountabilities

  • Perform gross profit forecast for auto product for domestic and export for each budget event (Quarterly, Annually, BIM)
  • Perform variance analysis comparing various scenario of auto product gross profit (Monthly KPI, Quarterly forecast event update, Annual forecast and Mid-term events)
  • Accumulate, adjust, and allocate gross profit data in SAP BPC
  • Collaborate with Finance team members and technical partners and streamline process to ensure the accuracy of submitted financial material and execution of management direction.
  • Support model profitability data and analysis as requested by various stakeholders
  • Support of AHM/NA strategic decision making with ad-hoc reporting and analysis
  • Participate and engage in special projects and assignments as requested
  • Support other responsibilities of Forecast team as needed


Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree with major in accounting or finance plus minimum 5 years experience, or associates degree with a minimum of 5 years experience in an accounting related job.
  • 5 years with Bachelor's degree, 5 years minimum with Associate's degree
  • Analytical, organizational, problem solving, result orientated, self-starter and outstanding communication skills
  • Understanding of basic GAAP/IFRS accounting principles with the ability to apply financial/accounting concepts and explain the implications to non-accountants
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, etc.)
  • Experience with data structure including ERP system usage (SAP/BPC/ S/4HANA)
  • Ability to handle and navigate through various set of data
