Position Overview
Essential Job Duties |
The Senior Research Associate will work and lead teams of researchers to produce internal and external reports specifically for community college stakeholders including college presidents, policymakers and practitioners.
This role will primarily support quantitative or qualitative research in one or multiple of the following areas:
- Completion/transfer; labor market outcomes/economic mobility; equity/rural issues;
- Post-secondary CTE, community college teaching and learning; college access or leadership/organizational climate;
- Working both independently and in teams, the senior research associate in this position will support analyzing data, writing executive summaries, reports, and/or scholarly articles to disseminate findings.
There will also be opportunities to co-publish research and present findings at regional and national conferences.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with graduate student research associates, and Belk Center staff to develop and execute quantitative or qualitative research and evaluation projects.
- Analyze quantitative or qualitative data.
- Independently or within groups of researchers develop and write reports, executive summaries, and/or scholarly articles to disseminate findings.
- Collaborate with associate director of research and evaluation to organize documentation and data related to the research agenda.
- Publish and/or co-publish research and present findings at regional and national conferences.
- Some travel may be required to engage with stakeholders for designing studies, collecting data, presenting findings, etc.

Department Required Skills |
- Ph.D or equivalent doctorate (e.g., M.D., D.V.M., Sc.D.) in appropriate field awarded no more than five (5) years from initial date of postdoctoral appointment.
- Experience with quantitative data analysis
- Knowledge of the unique context of community colleges
