Description

Summary:

This position oversees all aspects of public safety tower construction projects in Northern California. Responsibilities include project planning, budgeting, scheduling, quality control, safety oversight, and client communication. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership, technical, and communication skills, with a proven track record of successful project delivery in the telecommunications industry. While building up the construction department in Northern California, this position is expected to be field work 50% of the time, travel is expected.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Project Planning & Execution:

    • Develop detailed bid documents, project plans, schedules, and budgets.
    • Participate in estimating and bidding projects and change order preparation
    • Procure necessary materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
    • Coordinate all construction activities, including site preparation, foundation work, tower erection, equipment installation, and testing.
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and industry best practices.


  • Quality Control & Safety:

    • Implement and maintain rigorous quality control procedures.
    • Conduct regular safety inspections and enforce safety protocols.
    • Investigate and resolve construction-related issues promptly.


  • Budget & Schedule Management:

    • Monitor project costs and identify potential cost overruns.
    • Manage project schedules effectively to ensure timely completion.
    • Prepare and submit progress reports to clients and management.


  • Client Relations:

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
    • Communicate project progress, challenges, and solutions effectively.
    • Address client concerns and resolve disputes professionally.


  • Team Leadership & Management:

    • Lead and motivate a team of construction professionals.
    • Provide guidance, training, and support to team members.
    • Foster a positive and productive work environment.




Required Skills & Experience:



  • 5+ years of experience in telecommunications tower construction management.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects from inception to completion.
  • Strong understanding of construction techniques, materials, and equipment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and RF drawings.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with safety regulations and best practices in construction.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid drivers license.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience with public safety communications systems.
  • Knowledge of local and state building codes and regulations.
  • Experience with RF engineering principles.
  • OSHA 30 or similar safety certifications.
