Summary of role

We are seeking a Warehouse Operations Manager for the Lantheus Billerica site. This position will lead the Warehouse Operations Team to ensure the timely receipt, storage, control and distribution of raw materials, finished goods and expensed items for the company. Executes timely receipt transactions utilizing ERP system for processing and tracking material(s). Actively supports and participates in inventory cycle-count program. Supports several stakeholders such as Manufacturing, Distribution and other site customers, 3PLs and CMOs requirements providing Materials Handling needs while operating in a safe work environment. Manage the daily work schedule to meet the varying demands to support manufacturing. Accountable for sampling of incoming components, printed materials, advance/final vials, and chemicals and delivery of samples to appropriate testing laboratories.

This role is also responsible to ensure all shipments are compliant with related regulatory requirements in collaboration with internal IT, Compliance, and Quality resources.

Effectively manage relationships with service providers to consistently achieve deliverables aligned with company objectives. Lead the efforts of the Warehouse Team to ensure required activities including, but not limited to release/shipment of finished goods, inbound shipments from external sources and general warehousing operations.

This person should be able to:



  • Lead and coach the employees at the distribution center to ensure they continually strive to improve to the highest levels of quality, efficiency and effectiveness and that financial and operating objectives are achieved in accordance with internal and external policies and regulations.
  • Be the face of the company for audits and inspections from external agencies
  • Develop, implement and executes logistics strategies to provide the best distribution and warehousing services to achieve competitive advantage in timely delivery of sensitive products to customer.
  • Manage emergencies resulting from unforeseen events (major production deficits, transportation restrictions and incidents involving radioactive products, delays, strikes, etc.)
  • Examine budget expenditures for controllable costs. Analyze costs and make suggestions to management.
  • Participate in the development, coordination and implementation of corporate changes.
  • Develop, implement and execute organizational development plans and employee development plans to improve the effectiveness of the organization in the organization and maintain the know-how.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal partners while ensuring compliance with laws, regulations and practices.
  • Update and keep up with government regulations, industry standards and innovation. Control the regulation of hazardous materials, especially radioactive materials, with respect to land and air transport.
  • Provide innovative ideas, promotes team spirit and contributes to projects and audits of the distribution center.
  • Ensure proper employee training on all service policies and procedures.
  • Actively promote safety culture. Demonstrate good safety practices at all times, including the appropriate use of protective equipment. Report and take initiative to correct safety & environmental hazards.
  • Manage daily performance for an integrated Warehouse Operations work group, delivering on financial and operational objectives. Fosters individual development of key personnel for continued success in current and future assignments by providing resources and opportunities for appropriate training, mentoring or other experiences.
  • Create and drive efficiencies within Warehouse Operations by demonstrating an efficiency focused culture that is aligned and in support of strategic LMI initiatives. Optimizes ongoing initiatives to drive key Supply Chain objectives and deliverables. Ability to quickly switch priorities.
  • Direct the inspection, accountability and receipt of essential and non-essential materials utilizing ERP system and other related computer application systems. Act as a technical resource to resolve ERP issues that pertain to the Materials Operations, ensuring accurate inventory transactions for the issuance and movement of raw materials, finished goods and packaging components to Manufacturing, Product Shipment, External Parties and Internal site locations utilizing the ERP system.
  • Accountable for the distribution and delivery of processed materials to site buildings, managing group utilizing appropriate material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet movers, carts and/or trucks) adhering to site safety procedures
  • Accountable for the receipt, monitoring, storage and disposition of materials following state and federal guidelines and established SOP's.
  • Directly responsible for systems transactions, control and issuance of inventory for established cycle counting programs within the Warehouse Operations.
  • Assures the storage of essential raw materials and finished goods while maintaining product/lot segregation in compliance with FDA and cGMP guidelines at all locations including off-site approved storage locations.


  • Accountable for all Sampling requirements including incoming components, printed materials, advance/final vials, and chemicals according to SOP and appropriate statistical sampling AQL requirements. Strict adherence to SOPs and cGMP requirements for accountability, documentation, and product segregation. Coordinate/communicate the sampling and delivery of samples with all QC laboratories (Physical Testing, Microbiology, Radiometrics, and Chemistry). Provides additional samples to the labs as necessary.


  • Maintains current understanding of all related internal systems and processes, and external regulatory requirements including IATA and DOT regulations. Act in accordance with all corporate policies and ensure team is in compliance with all internal policies and external regulatory requirements.

Basic Qualifications



  • This position requires the employee to be onsite five days per week.


  • BA/BS degree in Supply Chain or Business-related discipline or 5 to 10 years' experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing or Warehouse and Distribution operations environment, or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a leadership role or experience

  • Position is considered Essential Personnel. Unscheduled work may be required on evenings, weekends and holidays, including during adverse weather conditions.
  • Travel may be required
  • Must complete relevant certifications, tests, and or exams required for compliance with internal standards and regulatory agencies within established timelines for position.
  • Handling of and/or exposure to potentially hazardous chemical, radiological and/or biological materials. Required to follow all safety procedures and use personal and protective equipment provided.
  • SAP experience a plus
