Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
UNC World View is a public service program of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, established in 1998, that equips K-12 and community college educators with global knowledge, best practices and resources to prepare students to engage in our diverse and interconnected world. We have official partnerships with more than 80 community colleges, K-12 districts and schools across the state and beyond. We work closely alongside educators at every grade level and discipline through the UNC World View Global Education symposia, workshops, Teacher Student Initiative and Global Education Leadership Program. UNC's faculty and vast global resources empower all educators to bring the best in global content to their classrooms. Our programming is dynamic and responsive, especially in changing times. UNC World View is committed to supporting educators as together we prepare the next generation of global leaders.
Position Summary
This position serves as a principle administrative support to the Director of UNC World View. In that role, the Executive Assistant will schedule appointments, organize meetings, gather data for internal and external reports, speak on behalf of the Director, make travel arrangements, maintain paper and electronic files and records, and track office expenditures.

The position will maintain contact with program staff, UNC World View K-12 and community college participants, and representatives of other state agencies/universities. As part of that responsibility, the Executive Assistant will coordinate program logistics for UNC World View events, manage venue reservations and budgets and serve as the unit parking coordinator.

The position will serve as a liaison to the UNC World View council of advisors by preparing meeting agendas, minutes, and summaries to be shared among council of advisor members.

The position will work closely with the OVPGA Business Office to ensure UNC World View speakers/consultants receive appropriate paperwork to process reimbursements, honorariums, and payments. The work will include processing fundraising contributions and managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, program and unit budgets, reimbursements, registration payments and individual program budgets. The position will serve as a personal delegate that can assist in preparing requests and expense reports on the Director's behalf in the University's Concur Travel System.

This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalency and three years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience; or Associate's degree in secretarial science, business administration, or a related discipline and one year of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience ; or Bachelor's degree, preferably in business administration or a related discipline; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Exceptional program management and organizational skills. Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail. Must be able to work independently and as part of a high impact collaborative team. Outstanding business skills, computer and technology skills and communication skills. Commitment to the mission of UNC World View. Must be able to report to work reliably during business hours. Schedule is M, T, W in the office on campus and Th, F are remote. Work schedule is 8am - 5pm M-F.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Business and finance experience in an academic setting. Experience with UNC finance (PeopleSoft, Infoporte) and UNC grant management systems (RAMSeS, RamTracker, RAMReports, etc.) is preferred.

Must be able to report to work between the hours of 8am and 5pm and in person M, T, W will maintaining productivity while remote Th, F each work week. Must be able to focus and complete tasks in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
