Job Summary:

In a career as a Director, Specialty Clinics, you join us in providing life-changing care to patients from across the region. In this role, you will be accountable for the operation of Boys Town National Research Hospital (BTNRH) Specialty Clinics.

Schedule: Full-Time, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM Monday-Friday

Location: Pacific Street MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
  • Responsible for operations of Specialty Clinics within the BTNRH system to include new service planning, and human, environmental and fiscal resources.
  • Directs planning efforts related to Specialty Clinic operations, including: establishing annual clinic goals and budgets; facility and information technology plans; staffing plans; marketing plans; and various performance improvement plans.
  • Supervises daily operation of the Specialty Clinics in coordination with the Clinic Nurse Supervisors and Patient Representative Team Leaders.
  • Develops and maintains excellent relations with medical staff; acts as a liaison between physicians and nursing staff to assure harmonious working relationships; develops systems and support mechanisms to improve physician productivity; works directly with medical staff to resolve patient care and operational issues.
  • Accountable for staffing of specialty clinics; assures compliance with practice standards to achieve safe, quality patient care; ensures clinical performance improvement activities occur; assures compliance with professional nursing practice policies, and procedures interviews, hires, evaluates, counsels, and disciplines staff as necessary.
  • Collaborates with the Director of Administrative Services in preparing and monitoring annual operating and capital budgets; responsible for operating within budget targets and parameters, and for identifying and implementing cost saving and revenue enhancing activities.
  • Collaborates with the Marketing Department to develop strategies to increase clinic visits, and participates in planning to increase the visibility of the clinics, new physicians, and select providers & services.
  • Works with the Director of Clinic Administrative Services to identify, and obtain, needed equipment, on facility leases and property management issues, and maintenance and repair issues.
  • Assures attitudes and behaviors supporting customer service are applied in staff selection, evaluation and daily practices.
  • Assures departmental compliance with internal policies and regulatory agencies, including State, Federal, and The Joint Commission.
  • Provides patient care and education according to the patient population served.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Registered nurse who is a graduate of an accredited school, with a current state license required.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of 5 years progressive fiscal/operational responsibility in physician clinics required.
  • Successful record of leading efforts to improve clinic performance required.
  • CPR certification required.
