Responsibilities
This position is responsible for preparing meals for events for University Catering and may include some additional work with the Aggie Marketplace.

Duties include:

  • Ensuring proper food handling procedures and adhering to quality expectations
  • Keeping work station clean, orderly, and sanitized
  • Plating and presenting food as specified for each event
  • Cooking meats, sauces, starches, and vegetables
  • Help other areas during busy times
  • Other duties assigned

    Qualifications
    Minimum qualifications:
    • 2-3 Years Catering Cooking Experience or 3-4 Years Restaurant Line Cook Experience
    • Available to work Monday-Saturday as needed for scheduled events
    • Ability to perform work involving standing, stooping, lifting 50lbs, and use of utensils and equipment relating to food service operations.
    • Food Handler's Permit is required within the first 30 days of employment.
    • Knowledge of the care and use of food service equipment and kitchen utensils.
    • Knowledge of health hazards in food preparation, service and necessary precautionary measures.

    The position requires considerable physical activity. Employees must have sufficient strength to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position including heavy lifting (50 pounds) and/or pushing and pulling of heavy objects. Employees must be prepared to assume uncomfortable positions such as crawling, kneeling, and squatting. Employees must adhere to safety precautions and may be required to use protective equipment.
