Shift/s available:

A shift (Monday through Friday) 6:50 a.m. to 3:10 p.m.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Support Warehouse Supervisor and other departmental employees in completing daily activities and achieving departmental goals.
  • Coordinate new employee and ongoing training and daily operating functions with warehouse management. Write work instructions as assigned.
  • Perform functions of other warehouse employees in the event of absences or other operational needs.
  • Lead, coordinate and direct material handlers in their routine duties and activities. Delegate and assign work specific tasks to material handlers as needed.
  • Train material handlers on departmental and/or company policies. Train or delegate training to experienced warehouse personnel on job specifics.
  • Ensure that all company safety rules are being adhered to. Report any safety hazards and incidents to Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Ensure that material handlers provide uninterrupted service to production lines with attention to tight inventory control.
  • Oversee progress of supplies, parts, and finished products for early detection of shortages.
  • Ensure all shipments are prepared according to customer specifications. Identify and communicate potential problems to the Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Prepares shipment paperwork such as, but not limited to, BOL, packing slips, invoices, UPS, FedEx, etc.
  • Maintain and monitor management of waste stream levels and coordinate scheduling of such pickups.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Over 2 years warehouse/ inventory experience and at least 2 years experience working in the production/manufacturing industry.
  • 2 years forklift experience.
  • Must be safety-oriented and detail-oriented.
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds frequently.
  • Basic computer skills (such as MS Office, email, etc.).
  • Data entry or prior database use and/or ERP (such as PRMS, Oracle) experience preferred.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk. The employee occasionally is required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position works in a warehouse/production environment. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

The performance of this position requires exposure to the manufacturing areas where certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment.
