Job Title: Senior Branch Manager / Preferred Banking Manager

What you'll do: As a leader in the Preferred and Small Business Banking team, the Preferred Banking Manager will lead an in-person client-facing branch sales and service team to achieve performance and productivity goals in sales, service, and operations. This leader will be responsible for executing strategies to enhance the client experience, deepen relationships, and drive growth and retention for both preferred and small business clients. Responsible for assigned deposit and loan growth within the branch, the ideal candidate will work to lead, coach, and manage a team of successful financial professionals capable of identifying client deposit and loan balances held at other financial institutions and recommending additional treasury management solutions when appropriate to help the client grow their business, improve efficiency, or simplify complex tasks. Additional key priorities include driving the consistent execution of the service delivery model and ensuring a 5-star client experience throughout every client interaction, collaborating across business lines, and building effective value-added partnerships with field-based relationship managers to drive client satisfaction; building and fostering high-performing teams, and leading and managing complex operational tasks that adhere to bank policies and regulations. This leader will apply their expertise in bank operations, small business banking, relationship management, and leading high-functioning teams to transform and enhance the branch operating environment.
What we are looking for:
Lead a team of financial professionals to achieve success in sales, service, and operations within the branch environment. Execute a comprehensive service strategy to deliver an optimal and consistent client experience for clients across a large value continuum. Manage and react to client experience survey results to improve the client experience. Track performance metrics for small business lending, banking, and treasury management activities along with service and operational control metrics. Provide leadership, oversight, and management to ensure operational consistency, control, and resiliency, reducing friction, creating automation, and reducing manual tasks and duplicative processes/controls. Oversee and manage the distribution of work for their designated team, facilitate cross-training opportunities, and provide reporting to management on production, turnaround times, and other key data points. Manage customer-facing risk/control process to ensure both an optimal client experience as well as a well-controlled operating environment. Leverage background and experience to recommend technical innovation and create solutions to improve efficiency and/or enhance the client experience. Ensure the team meets service level standards including sales, customer service, turn-around time, risk management and regulatory compliance, audit soundness, and productivity and efficiency. May also monitor individual team members' progress on their career experience journey to support their career progression and ensure optimal client support for all client inquiries or requests. Lead and develop a team; responsible for hiring, coaching, performance management, training, and development. Assist leadership by creating and executing strategic business initiatives driven by data analytics. This may require change management techniques with other internal departments, proactively keeping up to date with Bank products, and completing other duties as assigned. Drive cross-line-of-business partnerships to deliver the full value of the Western Alliance brand to clients through each of our distribution channels, including leading value-producing partnerships with small business bankers, AmeriHome mortgage, treasury management, and SBA lending and support teams. Remain knowledgeable on market trends, competitive offerings, industry best practices, and regulatory changes impacting the retail banking environment. Ensures adequate risk management within the branch environment, and works to develop strong operational practices. Collaborate across the Bank to identify opportunities to enhance client service, improve operations, and expand client relationships and revenue opportunities. Assist in mitigating risk, verifying audit compliance, and procedural quality control through a branch operations review. Ensure compliance with established Bank policies, procedures, and state and federal regulations.
What you need to have:
6+ years of direct, related experience in Treasury Management Sales, Treasury Management Service, and Senior Banking Operations Leadership roles. High school diploma is required, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience is required. A bachelor's degree in business is a plus. Knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management, and/or other commercial banking products and services. Knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices. Strong speaking and writing skills for internal and external audiences (ex: sales or leadership) Previous leadership experience is required. Demonstrated ability to think strategically, deliver innovation, and drive improved client and employee experiences. Strong leadership, coaching, and team management abilities. Strong knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management, and/or other commercial banking products and services. Strong knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
Compensation: Salary range for new hires is generally $100,370.00 - $123,983.00 for La Mesa, CA. Salary amount is determined by specific job location. In addition, the role may be eligible for annual bonus/incentives earned and restricted stock.
