Summary of Job

Perform a wide variety of skilled maintenance work on our converting, printing, and extruding equipment, and various other ancillary equipment, as well as general repairs to building and grounds. Emphasis on Good analytical skills and ability to source other/outside resources to resolve issues, troubleshoot and repair electrical/electronic and mechanical problems, repairing and replacing faulty components or parts, installing new machines and equipment, performing Preventive Maintenance on equipment, maintaining parts and supplies inventories. This position will be responsible to support the plant by maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and modifying mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical equipment. Including PLC, DCS and multiple systems.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities




  • Emphasis on good safe work practices and familiar with safety procedures.
  • Solid communication skills the ability to work well with others.
  • Good analytical skills set and a sense of urgency when it comes to completing work.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical/electronic systems and control circuits.
  • Ability to solve mechanical problems, repairing and replacing faulty components or parts, installing new machines and equipment, performing Preventive Maintenance on equipment, maintaining parts and supplies inventories.
  • Perform reactionary maintenance (i.e., repair machines, equipment, etc., when required, as such goes down).
  • Preventive maintenance can carry out tasks and responsibilities associated with maintenance of equipment, building and grounds, etc.
  • Plan and carry out tasks and responsibilities associated with special projects on existing or new equipment or facilities.
  • Assumes responsibility for managing projects assigned.
  • Sources products and materials and obtains pricing for maintenance purchases.
  • Accountable for parts inventories relative to own needs and replenishing.
  • Perform most types of tool & die and fixture jobs.
  • Miscellaneous duties, projects and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Works well within a small team to solve collective problems.
  • Proactively reaches out across departments to collaborate.
  • Encourages teamwork with all department and/or facility members.
  • Communicates well with fellow department and/or facility members.
  • Accepts training readily, quickly understands new concepts.
  • Shows willingness to offer training to fellow department members.
  • Performs a task with limited supervision and may require that you provide guidance to fellow employees.
  • Utilize hand and power tools in a safe manner including bench grinder, drills, and saws.
  • Performs routine preventative maintenance tasks to include the ability to read and interpret gauges.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work on a team to achieve departmental results.



Competency (Knowledge, skills, and abilities)



  • Ability to read and understand LOTO procedures
  • Welding/Fabricating.
  • Machining, Lathes, and Mills.
  • Understanding of machine control systems, and electrical schematics
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Use Office software and enter work orders in our CMMS software.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.



Environment



  • Exposure to moving equipment
  • Inside work
  • Heat may exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Humidity may exceed 80%
  • Noise may exceed 85dB+


Physical Characteristics

This position requires the following on-the-job time performing physical activities:



  • Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, crouch.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Ability to reach and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to endure elevated temperature levels.



Position Type



  • Full time
  • Night Shift (6PM to 6AM) - 2, 3, 2 - only work 14 days per month
  • Overtime expected per business demand.



Education and Experience



  • High School diploma, or GED equivalent; Prior experience in a Machine repair and maintenance Department, or technically oriented position desired.
