ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Work closely with the Manufacturing department to create and monitor Production Schedules and determine needs for flow of material.
  • Review master production schedules and work orders
  • Review weekly purchase order releases to suppliers
  • Enter manual inventory transactions; coordinating item set-up and item changes
  • Maintain accurate purchasing data (lead-time, SNP, etc.)
  • Coordinate and participate in cycle count activities for assigned areas and investigate discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Monitor vendor shipment schedules for on-time delivery
  • Monitor all systems throughout the day
  • Answer any shortages and track daily requirements and weekly shipments
  • Responsible for accurate, timely and economical inventory
  • Work on inventory transaction accuracy
  • Supervise and participate in physical inventories
  • Responsible for identifying opportunities for continuous improvement of material processes and submitting these ideas
  • Use company equipment/resources properly and safely and adhere to safety regulations
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area
  • Perform special assignments as delegated
  • Communicates regularly with customers to evaluate customer satisfaction and to interfaces on day-to-day service delivery questions. Identifies and resolves issues affecting delivery.
  • Answers questions and resolves concerns regarding customers, associates and co-workers.
  • Determines, through customer interaction, either through EDI, phone calls, e-mail, or fax, customer shipping schedules and quantities.
  • Determines amount and/or timing of shipment to customer to ensure timely delivery of expedited or unusual shipments.
  • Negotiates with customer shipment timing or amount to best serve the customer and protect HIAMS-AM Also, negotiate with customer regarding customer delivery scoring to ensure that HIAMS-AM receives the best possible score on a month-by-month basis.
  • Prepares reports relating to customer complaints and distributes reports to other departments or associates, as appropriate.
  • Initiates orders for replacements parts and/or for correcting errors (i.e. shortages, incorrect shipments, etc.).
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 2 years prior materials experience in auto or related industry preferred.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Detail oriented Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be proficient in MS Excel.
  • ERP system experience required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

As needed, but collaboration and cooperation is essential.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Little physical effort required except: Occasionally may be required to lift up to 35 pounds. Regularly required to sit, stand, reach and move about the plant.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work performed in an office and plant environment. Required to wear safety glasses and wear steel toe shoes while performing specific tasks or while in specific manufacturing areas.
