The Position
Department Summary The CryoEM Group in the Department of Structural Biology is dedicated to providing high-resolution structural insights into biological macromolecules involved in health and disease. Our facility is equipped with two Krioses [Selectris X/Falcon4i], Glacios [K3], Talos 200C, a confocal microscope with cryo-stage, external access to FIB-milling equipment, and all the usual ancillary equipment. This internship position is located in South San Francisco, on-site. The Opportunity You will help us answer interesting neurobiology-related questions using cryogenic electron tomography (cryoET). The project will be tailored to the skills and interests of the selected candidate. You will get a chance to be involved in all steps of the tomography workflow, from growing cells on EM grids, freezing, and FIB-milling (if required), to data collection and data processing. Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting. The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of South San Francisco is $50.00 per hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
