ABOUT THE JOB

The Quality Lab Technician has the accountability for inspecting and verifying that the product produced is made in accordance with the Customer's specification and meets the Company's quality expectations. Performing validation, verification of monitoring activities, product sampling, inspection, analysis and internal audits at all stages of production per governing regulations.

Responsibilities



  • Provide disposition for the receipt, inspection, and release of raw, in - process, finished product, packaging materials and processing aids.
  • Issue, review, and file batch records, labels, facility documentation and seals for manufacturing and packaging.
  • Create and issue Certificates of Analysis for all shipments. Prepare other customer specific documentation or label requirements.
  • Review Certificates of Analysis provided with the raw material or container and verify against internal specifications.
  • Review department systems to improve processes and procedures.
  • Maintain all laboratory equipment.
  • Perform and/or facilitate third party product testing on raw materials, in-process and final product.
  • Apply all product quality and safety standards as well as report any product safety incidents to the Supervisor, Manager, or designated back-up (applicable to positions working in accordance with specific plant or company certifications).
  • Perform other miscellaneous related duties, as needed.


ABOUT YOU



  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent experience
  • Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment preferred (ISO, SQF, FAMI-Q5, IPEC, etc.)
  • Experience with testing methodology and the ability to analyze and interpret results
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft applications - Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Problem solving, trouble shooting, time management and organization skills
  • Ability to communicate well with all disciplines and levels at the facility and corporate


Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
