Job Summary:
The Clinical Specialist will function as part of the Therapeutic Residential Performance Management Initiative (TRPMI) Team to assess, develop quality improvement (QI) plans, and provide technical assistance (TA) regarding clinical treatment approaches in residential treatment. Additionally, the Clinical Specialist will provide input and recommendations regarding treatment interventions for individual youth, working with residential providers in the far southwest counties of Illinois (Jefferson, Washington, Perry, and Johnson counties). This staff will report to the TRPMI Team Coordinator with matrix supervision to DCFS, UIC, and/or NU as indicated.
This position will require residency in or around the southwest counties of Illinois (Jefferson, Washington, Perry, and Johnson counties) (Residency in Chicago will not be feasible for this position)
While this position is hybrid, travel to agencies within Southwest Illinois counties listed above will be required.
(35 - 45% travel is required)

Specific Responsibilities:
- Assess implementation of effective program-wide trauma informed interventions for assigned therapeutic residential providers.
- Identify areas in need of improvement/development with respect to provision of clinical services in assigned therapeutic residential programs.
- Provide training to staff from assigned therapeutic residential provider programs.
- Conduct on-site milieu observations.
- Consult with Monitors in the TRPMI Teams and identify areas to prioritize during on-site observations, meetings and site visits.
- Attend therapeutic residential provider meetings, staffings, and training sessions.
- Provide consultation regarding individual youth in treatment with assigned providers.
- Attend TRPMI planning meetings regarding therapeutic residential provider assessment, QI planning and monitoring planning.
- Review data with respect to assigned therapeutic residential provider functioning/outcomes.
- Prepare and submit reports.
- Conduct assessments and administer clinical tools.

Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or other related field.
- At least two years of experience in child welfare
- Experience working in a residential treatment setting, psychiatric hospital, group home, or other site with child & adolescent milieu.
- Training in evidence-based and evidence-informed trauma care and service delivery.
- Ability to work independently, yet collaboratively with TRPMI teams.
- Must have a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
- Able to travel within the region to all locations as required. (Mileage reimbursement provided.)
- Must be able to work flexible/non-traditional hours (i.e. frequently evenings and weekends and occasionally late nights and early mornings.)
Minimum Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities.)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Applications (i.e. Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint.)

- Licensure in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or other related field

- Intermediate experience using Microsoft Office Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint.
Target hiring range for this position will be between $63,079- 88,705 per year. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
