Position Summary
The Student Engagement Coordinator will play an essential role in coordinating the Career Development Office's ("CDO") engagement with students. This is a very fast-paced position and regularly requires multi-tasking and managing multiple deadlines. This professional will regularly interact with law students, international LL.M. students, and faculty while providing superior customer service. The role will also involve event planning, drafting student-focused communications, learning legal career-related terminology and software, interacting with other university offices, and great attention to detail. A successful candidate will have a willingness to learn, strong communication skills, and the ability to keep a positive demeanor when faced with challenging situations.

  • Support student communications via weekly and monthly newsletters and job announcements.
  • Facilitate professional development events related to student training.
  • Facilitate meetings with student and faculty committees.

  • Manage student travel arrangements and reimbursements related to CDO sponsored external events.
  • Manage CDO expense reports and check requests.
  • Managing internal accounts and processing all spending requests for the department.
  • Tracking invoices and spending for private annual funding allocations.
  • Tracking ordering and receipts for books and materials for the department.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Management of on-campus interview programs and job postings (resume collects, resume forwarding requests, and direct contact postings). Including:
  • Sending invitations, registering employers, confirming dates and receipt of supporting materials, handling scheduling details, collecting and transmitting student applications, communicating with employers regarding interview date details, scheduling interviews, resolving questions from students, and any other related tasks.

  • Conduct student outreach programs via the Career Resource Center and other locations within the law school.
  • Provide students with information and content describing various CDO, law school, and university resources.
  • Produce and post CDO related marketing materials. Support CDO social media efforts.

  • Manage and support law student and international LL.M. counseling appointments and appointment follow-up procedures.
  • Support the Assistant Dean and other CDO staff members with other administrative and scheduling matters.

  • Primary departmental responsibility for managing the career database, LawDawgDash (12Twenty) and interfacing with other systems (such as Athena for retrieving transcripts).
  • Processing large employer mailings.
  • Assisting students with technological issues related to applications via LawDawgDash.

  • Handle incoming and outgoing reciprocity requests, supervise student workers, coordinate flow of clerical work, and assist with the support of off-campus interview programs.
