Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Student Assistant for the Deparment of Urban/Global Health for the School of Public Health located in Newark NJ. The Student Assistant, under the supervision of Dr. Mobolaji Ibitoye, will assist with qualitative data analysis for a few projects focused on fertility desires and contraception use in sub-Saharan Africa and among African immigrants in the USA.

Duties include:

  • Assists with coding of interview transcripts.
  • Assists with data extraction.
  • Assists with analysis of qualitative data.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must be a current Rutgers student.
  • Prior coursework/training in qualitative research methods
  • Interest in sexual and reproductive health/global health


Preferred Qualifications

  • A student currently enrolled in a graduate program in public health is preferred.
  • Prior experience in qualitative data analysis outside the classroom
  • Proficient in using NVivo or Dedoose
