The Infrastructure Analyst is responsible for maintaining the computer, server and cloud-platform systems and providing additional levels of maintenance support for system users. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency / institution policy.

The Infrastructure Analyst supports and maintains the computer server and cloud-platform systems and evaluates server management and monitoring products. This position monitors all server and cloud-platform systems for potential problems and implements new server and cloud-platform systems projects. The position makes recommendations for upgrades in order to support new technology or customer requests and provides an additional level of maintenance and support for all server and cloud-platform systems. This position will develop and maintain relationships with server and cloud-platform systems users and vendors to provide the best solutions to customer needs. The position will support the core server and cloud-platform hardware and software installations and changes. This individual must have good technical and analytical skills with hands-on server and cloud-platform and systems experience. The position requires someone with collaboration and open communication skills along with a positive outlook and good project management skills.

Essential Duties

  • Maintain, configure, upgrade and support all campus server and cloud-platform systems and other related systems.
  • Install, integrate and support new and existing systems and applications as needed.
  • Monitor server and cloud-platform system performance which includes availability, utilization, throughput and latency.
  • Troubleshoot computer, systems, servers and cloud-platform systems hardware, software and other related issues.
  • Installs software programs and updates in computers, laptops, servers and cloud-platform systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve server and cloud-platform system issues and proactively optimize performance and security measures.
  • Resolve problems reported by end-users.
  • Research and make recommendations on computer systems, servers and cloud-platform systems.
  • Analyzes system logs to identify source of errors and collaborates with IT team to resolve both hardware and software problems as needed.
  • Maintains a status list for all projects along with insuring deadlines are met and expectations exceeded. This includes providing a weekly status project summary to IT leadership.
  • Travel to offsite locations to troubleshoot and repair issues as needed.
  • Proactively avoids customer problems/conflicts which eliminates intra-departmental conflicts and dilemmas.
  • Performs any other related duties as required or assigned.

This is a 100% on-campus position.

Rate of pay: $48,671.00 annualized

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of computer systems, servers and cloud-platform systems hardware and software.
  • Knowledge of computer user requirements.
  • Knowledge of system, server and cloud-platform system design procedures.
  • Knowledge of the application systems in automation of information systems.
  • Knowledge on how to create system and end-user reports and document various procedures.
  • Ability to review results, determine the source of problems/errors and devise corrective actions.
  • Ability to analyze and modify existing computer, server and cloud-platform systems.
  • Ability to discern necessary support actions/input and to write detailed actions and procedures for non-technical personnel.
  • Ability to understand relevant detail from oral information and explain technical terms and information.
  • Ability to determine costs and resource requirements of projects.
  • Should have strong time management, multi-tasking and organizational skills.

Required Education

The formal education equivalent of an associate degree in computer information systems, mathematics or a related field with experience in server and cloud-platform system setup, configuration and administration or a related area which includes computer system setup or other job related education and / or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements.
