Business Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer Intern

Job Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineering Intern role will work in the ME Department to support actively in key projects that are DTV (design to value) and TPM Autonomous maintenance for the equipment in our manufacturing process. The DTV project is to work with the OPS, Engineering and Marketing Departments to support actively the development, facilitation, analysis and follow up of DTV initiatives to review the components and design based on improved manufacturability, cost reduction of current products manufactured.

Job Responsibilities:



  • Investigate manufacturability / equipment issues that are causes by design and current manufacturing variation, propose, and validate solutions to mitigate issue.
  • Develop and implement Autonomous Maintenance documentation for critical automated equipment that included detailing tasks, tools, frequency, and safety requirements.
  • Support ME in review, development, and implementation of Standard Work (WI, Process Sheets, Checklists, etc.).
  • Analyze information and feedback analysis that includes faults & failures that generate downtime or hinder equipment performance, making recommendations for adjusting equipment performance. Follow-up to assure that corrective actions are in place and assess effectiveness.
  • Prepare and organize DTV Teardown events which includes its logistics, attendance list and products to be teared down.
  • Identify, scope, and document results of DTV Teardown Events.



Job Requirements:



  • Enrolled in engineering degree program and of at least sophomore status.
  • Must possess effective analytical, numerical, problem solving, and reasoning abilities. Ability to interpret data and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Proficiency in CREO Software.
  • Effective verbal and written communications.
  • Speak and write English effectively to convey information.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office - Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Collaborative approach to partner with teammates, suppliers, and customers (both internal and external) successfully, working closely with others in a team environment. Establish and leverage relationships to achieve common project objectives.
  • Excellent planning & organization skills required.
  • Strong "hands on" approach to getting work completed.
  • Must be flexible to perform a wide range of tasks, responding to changes in direction, accepting new challenges, responsibilities, and assignments.
  • Meet all safety requirements for applicable policies and use of equipment.
  • Acceptable attendance to meet company standards and requirements.
  • Proactive and sense of urgency.


Preferred Skills (not required):



  • Engineering Degree Program
  • AutoCAD experience
  • Ability to take a leadership role in a team-based environment
  • Statistical Process Techniques, Failure Analysis, and Process Validation Skills
  • Standard Work Lean Tools Skills
