Viking Enterprise Solutions (VES), a division of Sanmina Corporation, is responsible for the design of high performance storage and server systems for the OEM marketplace. Due to our continued success and growth, Viking Enterprise has an opportunity for a Manufacturing and Product Launch Engineer. Job Purpose:

In this broad ranging role, the Manufacturing and Product Launch Engineer works within a team responsible for product development of innovative data storage and server product designs in Colorado Springs. The Manufacturing and Product Launch Engineer will be responsible for participating in a cross-functional team responsible for supporting our design engineering organization. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the ongoing success of our growing business unit. This team includes manufacturing test development, Agile and PDM tool administration, Quality operations, Regulatory and Compliance testing, and Manufacturing Engineering

Nature ofDuties/Responsibilities:



  • Provide oversight and technical direction to our third party, in-circuit test (ICT) test development teams.
  • Support manufacturing and product quality efforts as required
  • Lead and contribute to process flow definition and maintenance for all aspects of our manufacturing operations (PCBA through system)
  • Support our manufacturing engineering team and ensure our manufacturing processes are in line with best industry practices
  • Collaborate with cross functional development teams to ensure product design supports industry accepted manufacturing processes
  • Continuously drives improvements in MFG test yield, process times, MFG quality and overall team efficiency
  • Support customer escalations as needed
  • Support Operations teams as needed
  • Provide support to development engineering teams as required
  • Support limited design efforts as required
  • Actively contribute and support New Product Introductions (NPI) within the organization
  • Actively participate in specifying and managing the development of ICT fixtures
  • Support DFx activities as required


Education and Experience:



  • BS degree in engineering, computer science, operations management or related field
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience leading projects in a similar team
  • 5+ years of experience working in a Manufacturing Operations role
  • 5+ years of experience supporting NPI activities on complex electronic products
  • Excellent understanding of Manufacturing test processes and best practice
  • Excellent understanding of manufacturing and design Quality processes and best practice
  • Working knowledge of BOM structures and Agile PDM workflows, processes and administration
  • Working knowledge of regulatory and compliance testing, with an emphasis on factory compliance
  • Working knowledge of component engineering fundamentals, requirements and process flows
  • Excellent understanding of manufacturing engineering and process flows with an emphasis on PCBA through completed assembly
  • Working knowledge of basic PCB fabrication process and PCBA assembly work flows


Preferred Education and Experience:



  • Working understanding of server, storage server or storage product products
  • Experience leading off-shore teams in India and Asia (Taiwan/China)
  • PMP certification
  • Understanding of basic server interfaces to include PCIe, SAS, SATA, NVMe
  • Working understanding of SES, BMC, BIOS and Networking protocols
  • Working knowledge of various OS (Linux, Windows, Unix etc.)
  • Working understanding of signal integrity concepts and trade-offs
  • Working knowledge of power, packaging and cooling trade-offs for electro-mechanical systems
  • Manufacturing and operations support of similar products


Salary Range (annual): $90,000 - $120,000
