TITLE: Quality Technician

POSITION OBJECTIVE: Well established paper packaging manufacturer in the Waukegan/North Chicago area is seeking a Quality Technician for 2nd shift to check and monitor all the product flow throughout the plant to ensure compliance with company standards.

Second shift hours: 2:00 to 10:00 pm.

QUALIFICATIONS:



  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of quality control and/or production experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret information.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to problem-solve.
  • Flexibility
  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.


  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.



JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
  • Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.
  • Perform inspections across all stages of production and warehousing.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards and specifications.
  • Evaluate data and draft reports, noting any relevant deviations from existing standards.
  • Approve finished products by confirming specification, conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming rework.
  • Identify areas for quality control improvement.
  • Communicate quality or compliance concerns or abnormalities with urgency and accuracy to Quality Manager.



TRAINING:



  • Must complete online and classroom training as required.



PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:



  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to stand for long periods.



VISUAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:



  • High-level of visual awareness necessary.
