The Engineering Manager will manage an engineering product development team of Software and Hardware engineers to design and develop Automated Test Equipment used in the manufacturing of multi-gigabit cable assemblies. They will be responsible for coordinating electrical engineering laboratory tests, training electrical engineering staff, and performing complex electrical tests, analysis, and evaluations on Molex products.

What You Will Do
* Lead and supervise assigned staff of software and hardware engineers to ensure the design and development of globally deployable automated production test systems for high-speed cable assembly products meet or exceed customer expectations.
* Conduct and manage several simultaneous test systems and departmental projects with differing priorities and provides direction to global Cable Product Group division teams involved in assigned projects. Testing requires experience with digital sampling oscilloscopes (eye patterns, impedance, skew, TDR), pattern generators (PRBS, CJTPAT), network analyzers (insertion loss, return loss), spectrum analyzers, and bit error rate testers (BERT) required.
* Hands-on software development experience to extend and refine the capabilities of existing test systems across multiple manufacturing regions. Must coordinate software development activities with various teams, including product development, manufacturing, marketing, quality, etc. Perform product evaluation and performance analysis. Utilizing standard departmental procedures, develop and modify product test plans to establish performance and reliability of the products being tested. Prepare detailed and complex test reports.
* Coach, mentor, and develop engineering staff. Empower assigned staff to take responsibility for their jobs and goals. Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and regular feedback on productivity, quality, and goal accomplishment. Participate in recruitment and selection activities.
* Assist teams in the product design and development where necessary. Activities may include project coordination, concept development, scheduling, budgeting, hardware design, mechanical fixture design, design reviews, product qualification, maintenance of records, and other activities as needed.
* Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among group members that allows for disagreement over ideas, conflict and expeditious conflict resolution, and the appreciation of diversity as well as cohesiveness, supportiveness, and working effectively together to enable each employee and the group to succeed.
* Interface with the high-speed development teams in the design, development, testing, and implementation of multi-gigabit cable assemblies. Multi-discipline team includes customers, suppliers, electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, quality, and marketing.
* Understand, support and contribute to current Molex Total Quality Management (TQM), Six Sigma, International Standards Organization (ISO) and Environmental, and/or Health and Safety (EH&S) Management Systems by following stated policies and procedures.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
* Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or Computer Science
* 3-5 years of hands-on professional experience in leading Automated Test Equipment designs.
* Extensive working knowledge of s-parameter, RF/microwave transmission line theory including Fourier transform, characteristic impedance, eye diagrams, time-domain analysis, cross talk, bit error rate testing, jitter analysis, etc. of connectors, cable assemblies, or printed circuit boards.
* Experience with RF/microwave test and measurement equipment such as digital sampling oscilloscopes, TDR modules, multiport-port network analyzers, and bit error rate testers.
* Hands-on experience with compiled programming languages such as C/C++ or VB with the Microsoft .NET framework and scripted programming languages such and Tcl/Tk or Python.
* Proven project management skills to manage and complete several large projects simultaneously, which require support several different sources.

What Will Put You Ahead
* M.S., or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or Computer Science
* At least 2 years of supervisory and/or project lead experience in a technical field.
* Experience with microwave circuit design, and PCB layout.
* Exposure to advanced PCB fabrication methods.
* Experience developing relational databases with software such as Microsoft SQL or MySQL.
* 3D modeling with CAD/CAM/CAE software.
* Electromagnetic simulation with software such as Ansys HFSS or CST Microwave Studio.
* Lean/six sigma yellow or green belt training. Understanding and application of control charts, process capability, gage R&R, and other lean/six sigma tools.
