Description

GAI Consultants, Inc. is looking for a Senior Roadway inspector to conduct inspections for our growing highway construction workload. This position will work out of our Jacksonville, FL office.

Responsibilities:



  • Responsible for performing highly complex technical assignments such as in-field surveying and construction layout and making and checking engineering computations.
  • Inspect construction work and conduct field tests.
  • Coordinate and manage the lower-level inspectors.
  • Work is performed under the general supervision of the Project Administrator


Requirements:

Education



  • High school diploma or better


Experience



  • 10 years of experience in roadway or bridge construction inspection.
  • 2 years of which should in bridge and/or roadway construction inspection with the exception of Complex Category 2 (CC2) bridge structures or a Civil Engineering degree and 1 year of road & bridge CEI experience with the ability to earn additional required certifications within 1 year.

  • CTQP Concrete Field Technician Level
  • CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I
  • CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level II
  • CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I
  • CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level II
  • CTQP Pile Driving Inspection
  • CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection
  • IMSA Traffic Signal Inspector Level I
  • FDOT Advanced MOT
  • CTQP Final Estimates Level I
  • Nuclear Radiation Safety
  • Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Training


Physical Requirements:



  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds unassisted.
  • Must be capable of walking in steep varying terrain in all climate conditions.
  • Must be able to drive.
