Position Summary

MaineHealth Behavioral Health is seeking a Clinician to join our outpatient clinic team withMaineHealth Behavioral Health Autism and Developmental Disorders!

MaineHealth Behavioral Health Autism and Developmental Disorders Portland serves individuals and their families. Our specially trained providers have expertise in the emotional and behavioral needs of people with autism and other developmental disorders. We use evidence-based practicesthrough a team-based approachto meet each patient's unique needs. Our collaborative team usesbi-weekly case review meetings to interact with one another and offer support. The center is open Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM.This role will serve patients of all ages with a primary focus with our pediatric population.

Together we can ensure that children and adults with autism and developmental disorders can achieve their greatest potential!

Responsibilities of the Clinician role include:

  • Involved in the evaluation and treatment of patients with autism and other developmental disorders and their families by providing individual, family, and group therapy.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team which includes psychiatrists, nurses, psychologists, behavior analysts, social workers,medical assistant, behavior technician and developmental behavioral pediatricians.
  • Conduct and document a psychosocial assessment of each patient to clarify problems, strengths and goals
  • This work is performed under general supervision in accordance with institutional and social work policies.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: Master's Degree in Social Work from an institution accredited by the Council on Social Work/Counselor Education required.

2. License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) license as an LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) preferred. Licensure as a LMSW-CC (Licensed Master Social Worker, Conditional Clinical) considered. Valid Driver's License if required for role.

3. Experience: Two years of relevant experience in a mental health setting preferred. Experience working with individuals with developmental disorders, including children with autism and intellectual disabilities preferred.

4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: DOE Fingerprinting required.

5. Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: Proficient computer skills. Knowledge of community resources related to health, illness and disability.
