UCLA's Teacher Education Program (TEP) prepares aspiring teachers to become social justice educators in urban settings. The program is designed for future educators who want to serve in historically marginalized communities in Los Angeles. SUMMARY OF POSITION The Department of Education at UCLA seeks applications for part-time lecturer(s) to teach within the TEP graduate program. UCLA TEP offers several pathways that culminate in a teaching credential and a Master of Education degree. We are guided by an anti-racist and social justice agenda in our commitment, partnerships, and coursework. Course(s) include the following, and the lecturer may also be assigned additional courses according to the instructional needs in the department and in conformity with departmental lecturer workload policies: * EDU 427C, Individualized Education - Introduction to Special Education: Collaboration with Families/Caregivers and Support Services: In fostering an inclusive philosophy and approach, graduate students in the Education Specialist credential pathway will explore ways to effectively collaborate with various service providers to support, teach, and include students with disabilities. Students will examine research-based strategies to enable them to collaborate with the families of students with disabilities and any associated stakeholders (i.e., outside agencies/service providers). Credential candidates will be exposed to and guided in using data collection tools to develop IEP goals and how and when to employ certain instructional strategies and assessments. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES Responsibilities will include lecturing, conducting regularly scheduled office hours, and the writing and grading of assignments and exams. Other responsibilities will include attending regularly TEP faculty meetings and collaborating with other instructors to enhance the program's vision. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS * A MA degree in Education in required PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Doctorate degree in Education is highly preferred.
