Overview This job exists to provide leadership, operational expertise, technical, mechanical and hands-on assistance for safe operation of the entire Styrene Polymers facility. The following are some key responsibilities:

Responsibilities This job encompasses operation of the Styrene Polymers building's assets to safely and reliably produce product. Process troubleshooting, interpretation of lab analysis results and process adjustments are key to the operation of the plant. The ability to learn and understand chemical processing, and to be able to function at a very high level with the ABB Process Control system is crucial to being successful in the job. CWP is a job expectation; high proficiency in this area is desired. The person in this job is expected to work within a team environment (shift team and operations team) and be capable of communicating effectively (both written and verbal) with peers, technical staff, interplant suppliers and customers, maintenance personnel, project teams, crisis response personnel, etc. Use of all electronic Operate Plant WP tools is required. Shift Schedules possible: Shift Schedules possible: 7 & 2 (weekend 12's) Job will be filled according to Styrene Polymers practices in alignment with the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Refer to Article 2 of the contract Learning requirements are defined by the Styrene Polymers learning policy. Qualifications Education/Certification Requirements (within C.B.A.): High school diploma or equivalent. Previous operating experience in a chemical process and/or advanced technical training in the area of chemical processing will be of benefit. Physical requirements of the job: Able to climb stairs, ladders, and lift 50lbs Medical surveillance exam required for working with Acrylonitrile Safety equipment requirements: full face & SCBA respirator, rubber suit, safety goggles & shoes, hard hat, gloves, hearing protection Equipment driven: fork truck, automobile, utility cart (golf cart) |
