Job Summary: Assists with supervising and directing activities of Terrain Park Groomers and Attendants in accordance with company policies and procedures. Performs all functions of Terrain Park Staff. Assist the Terrain Park Manager with all Terrain Park Grooming staff and directing grooming activities in accordance with company policies and procedures. Assists with all special projects including and not limited to all park design, special events and all machine maintenance. Assists with summer operations including and not limited to terrain park fleet maintenance. Oversees all Terrain Park Shop training and projects.

Hourly:

The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC's hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.

Base hourly pay range: $24.86 - $32.31 per hour

Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following: other duties may be assigned:
  • Supervise a team of 1-25 employees. Assist in supervisory responsibilities such as interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Comply with Federal and California Labor law in all phases of the payroll and employment process; from hiring through termination, as well as all Company policies & procedures.
  • Enforce safety standards in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Oversee nightly Terrain Park grooming operations and assists in the delegation of Terrain Park grooming assignments and responsibilities.
  • Monitor work of Terrain Park Grooming Staff to assure appropriate maintenance of the slopes.
  • Assign duties and examines work for safety, quality, and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Assist in training of new employees.
  • Perform all duties of Terrain Park Groomer II and Attendants.
  • Assist in training of new employees.
  • Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.


Competencies and Job Requirements:

Required:
  • Able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally across all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships and interact with others
  • Working knowledge of computers including Pisten Bully SnowSat (Depth, Fleet & Maintain), MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access) Excellent time management, decisiveness, performance assessment, and being able to delegate and influence.
  • Working knowledge of computers including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access)
  • Must be advanced snowboarder or skier.
  • Able to produce a consistent snow surface using various grooming machines and implements.
  • Proficient in construction and maintenance of special sites, such as race starts and terrain features.
  • 2-5 Years Welding/fabrication experience
  • Must be able to operate terrain park equipment such as Winch Cats, and Zaugg Pipe Cutters


Education and Experience:

Required:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must have 3+ years operating a snowcat
  • Valid driver's license with no restrictions
  • Pisten Bully Pro Academy on-line training - Provided by Palisades Tahoe post hire.
  • Must have 3+ years of supervisory or management experience

Must be capable of sitting for long periods of time, up to 90% or more of a normal 8-hour work shift. Must be capable of occasionally balancing, climbing, reaching, squatting, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crawling. Must be capable of occasionally carrying, lifting. pushing or pulling up to 75bs Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions:

Indoor/Outdoor: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently be exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee may encounter extreme winter cold and blizzard conditions.

Hazardous Materials/Noise: The noise level in the workplace is usually moderate, this job may experience hazards such as mechanical, electrical, fumes, odors, dusts, gases.

Equipment Used in Job: Compressors, hand tools, torches, snowcat, welder, chain saw, snowmobile, skis or snowboard
