Facilities Manager The Division of Laboratory Animal Resources (DLAR) Facilities Manager is responsible for inspecting and maintaining multiple DLAR animal facilities' infrastructure, in accordance with regulatory, University and departmental requirements. Duties include:
The successful candidate must be knowledgeable about mechanical, plumbing HVAC and other building systems, possess excellent decision making, time management and multitasking skills, have a basic understanding of accounting and finance principles, and be proficient with technology (e.g. Microsoft Office, Zoom, Teams). Preferred qualifications include proven experience as a facilities manager or relevant position, previous experience working in a laboratory, hospital, and/or animal facility building management role, and Certified Facility Manager (CFM) credential and/or BSc/BA in facility management engineering, or relevant field. Must be available to participate in evening/weekend pager rotation schedule; stand for extended periods of time; lift 50 pounds; push/pull heavy equipment; and pass the mandatory criminal and social background checks and obtain Child Protection Clearances. Vaccinations and TB testing may be required. Job Summary Manages overall building and facility operations and maintenance and leads team. Prepares budgets and performs related financial duties. Maintains, negotiates, and ensures adherence to contracts. Ensures safety and operational security of buildings and maintains associated records. Essential Functions The employee must be able to:
