Overview

The Behavior Analyst designs and supervises the behavioral intervention services for children diagnosed with autism who present with significant problem behavior. The Behavior Analyst develops and implements comprehensive functional behavior assessments, develops and delineates behavior plans, and provides parent training and school consultation services. The Behavior Analyst may serve in a clinic-based or community-based capacity, providing Intensive Day Treatment services or Community Behavior Consultation services.

Responsibilities

* Work directly with clients with significant problem behavior, under the clinical supervision of a supervising psychologist, to assess behavioral profile of clients, including strengths, challenges, and interests. Conduct functional analyses and structured intervention for significant problem behavior.
* Develop and conduct behavioral consultation services for school personnel and parents.
* Develop goals and design evidence-based intervention plans, services, and procedures to reduce problem behavior and build replacement skills. Provide crisis interventions to patients when indicated.
* Train CASD staff regarding behavior reduction strategies and safety procedures. Assist in community trainings and other community events for CASD. Conduct parent training and address all questions and concerns of parents.
* Serve as liaison between the CASD and the client's other service providers and school district personnel.
* Complete all documentation necessary for each client, including individual service plans, behavior plans, general recommendations, service, and treatment summaries.
* Attend weekly supervision meetings, training seminars, other designated training sessions, and attend monthly staff meetings.

Qualifications

Education Requirement:
MA in psychology, special education, speech or language, or a related field, required.

Licensure Requirement:
Valid Ohio driver's license and proof of auto insurance as required by hospital policy. Must pass motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications, and training set forth by Nationwide Children's Hospital and maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.

Certifications:
* Board Certification in Behavior Analysis, required.
* Certification as a Certified Ohio Behavior Analyst (COBA)

Skills:
* Teamwork and collaboration
* Proficiency with MS Office

Experience:
* Two years providing behavioral intervention services to individuals with autism Spectrum and related disorders who demonstrate severe and complex problem behavior.
* Experience completing functional behavior assessments and behavior plans.
