Your Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced, FAA certified Corporate Pilot for our flight operations in Newport News, VA. Our ideal candidate embodies flight safety. Primary responsibilities include a safe, comfortable, reliable and legal operation of company aircraft in compliance with all applicable federal regulations as well as company policies, standards and procedures. Pilots in command of an aircraft are directly responsible for, and are the final authority, on the safe and legal operation of the aircraft.

Core Responsibilities
  • Serve as a pilot in command or second in command for assigned flights. Responsible for providing the safe transportation of employees, customers, and guests through the operation of the company's jet fleet. This includes flight planning, monitoring aircraft performance, weather, routing, fuel requirement, airport requirements, air traffic control, and FAA regulations

  • Comply with schedules and other directives governing aircraft operations.

  • Ensure pre-flight inspections are performed.

  • Study weather conditions at destination, en-route, at alternate airports and departure points.

  • Prepare flight plans.

  • Ensure that flight and ground operations comply with federal aviation regulations.

  • Review and calculate aircraft weight and balance, fuel on board and performance charts.

  • Coordinate and monitor functions of all assigned crewmembers.

  • Make decision to start, delay or cancel flights or deviate from planned route or destination when necessary.

  • Represent the company at the executive level when dealing with business associates, officials and customers.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions.

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university and 8+ years' of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum 3,500 hours total flight time, required.

  • Minimum 1,000 hours of turbine pilot in command experience preferred.

  • DA-2EASY or EMB-550 experience a plus.

  • Part 121 or Part 135/91 turbine/jet flight operations experience.

  • Must be able to travel overnight, to domestic and international destinations, sometimes short notice.

  • International experience, a plus.

  • Excellent customer service & interpersonal skills.

  • Well organized and detail-oriented with an ability to multitask.

  • Excellent time management and communication skills.

  • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.

  • Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
