Claims Litigation Analyst

What the day will look like

As a Claims Litigation Analyst, you will report directly to the Claims Manager and/or Claims Director working in the challenging and rewarding segment of insurance.

  • Investigates, verifies and analyzes complex coverage issues; resolves in accordance with insurer protocol
  • Draft coverage denials or Reservations of Rights letters for carrier approval where required to do so.
  • Investigate, analyze and evaluate damages and liability factors, including risk transfer opportunities and third party involvement
  • Demonstrate an awareness of jurisdictional nuances impacting claim evaluation and keeps abreast of legislation and court decisions in multiple jurisdictions
  • Establish and monitor loss and expense reserves within authority level
  • Complete reports timely and accurately in compliance with company guidelines
  • Develop and implement an appropriate claim resolution plan
  • Conduct direct negotiations or, if warranted, mediated settlement discussions
  • Actively participate in coordination of defense counsel activities, including preparation of the case for dispositive motion, arbitration, trial or appeal in accordance with insurer protocol
  • Review and approve payments within authority level
  • Attend mediations, settlement conferences, or trials as required

How this opportunity is different

This position handles litigated, complex, or other high-exposure commercial liability claims assigned. Interacts with internal and external parties and with our insuring partners to resolve claims made against our policyholders.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • 5+ years experience in handling Commercial General Liability Insurance Claims
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Indiana adjuster license is required or to be obtained within 90 days of hire

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of industry experience.

Pay Transparency Laws:

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $85,000 -$100,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
