Description The Quality & Performance Improvement team at UNC Rex is seeking a Sepsis Coordinator to lead efforts related to sepsis care and to collaborate with healthcare teams to implement best practices for optimal patient outcomes. This hospital-based role will lead quality improvement initiatives, serve as an advocate for sepsis awareness and prevention, and participate in both local hospital and healthcare system initiatives. This person will inform organizational strategy for mortality reduction through improving sepsis care. The preferred candidate is a nurse with a strong clinical background and previous leadership and project management experience. This candidate will be comfortable with data analysis and excited by the opportunity to coordinate complex programs to improve the safety and quality of care for our patients. Summary: The Sepsis Coordinator demonstrates advanced knowledge of clinical practice in sepsis management, focusing on the oversight and coordination of interdisciplinary team efforts regarding sepsis. Demonstrates knowledge of sepsis care across the continuum, influences leaders and leads complex improvement projects for the specialized patient population. Duties include overseeing the sepsis program, management of sepsis protocols and guidelines, data analysis and performance metrics, and staff education.
