Responsibilities will include individual student teaching supervision and assigned undergraduate ethnomusicology courses. Additional responsibilities may include advising credential candidates on preparing standardized assessment documents and other issues related to certification. Applicants should have an established regional, national, and/or international reputation as a music educator with expertise and experience in the basic technical terms of various musical cultures from around the world as well as Western music; reading and writing in some notated world music and Western music notation; rhythm and intervals as they manifest themselves in distinct traditions; musical symbols, such as dynamics and articulation marks; vocabulary of ornamentations in world music and Western traditions; pitch organization systems of the world. A post-baccalaureate degree is required. Candidates should submit: a cover letter stating interest in the position, a comprehensive curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching philosophy, and a statement of contribution to diversity. In addition, please provide names and contact information for at least three professional references.
